It seems to me these teams are more ‘equal’ than a 22 game spread in the Division would indicate. Now, it’s just who wants it more and who performs (i.e. doesn’t choke) in the clutch. I give a slight edge to the Dodgers on talent and a slight edge to the Padres on desire.

We'll find out today if there is a sense of urgency with this club or whether it suffers from apathy borne by overconfidence. I believe whoever wins game three will likely win this series. Hopefully, the Dodgers feel the same. They need to play more focused on defense and on the bases and be more patient at the plate. That won't cure the dead zones that have plagued this lineup all year (Bellinger, Gallo, Taylor, and for a long stretch, Muncy and J. Turner), but at least they won't be helping their opponent win.
