I have 1 like this, just didn't wire it yet, I am going to wire it through my battery maintainer via a cig lighter plug so I can remove it when needed. it is a well built light as you said.

With the wiring kit that came with it. Very easy, very high quality, and only took about five minutes. The wiring kit is the biggest reason I went with this set up. To be more specific it is direct to battery and switch. It is possible to leave the light on, but I park it in a barn so I'm not to worried about that. If they where running lights I would've used a relay, and leds.
