McLaren need to apologize to both drivers. To Oscar for messing up his strategy and tarnishing his first win, and to lando for the manipulation and making him look like the bad guy in this situation. Neither driver did anything wrong they both did what the team asked.

I think most fans understand that if Oscar boxed first he would have won from there. Plus running in clean air is always advantageous.

Stella should have come on radio himself and just said to Lando firmly give the position, that is an order

How ironic this title is. Mclaren needs to be more ruthless but yet the most ruthless driver on the grid faces the harshest criticism of the sky f1 team 😂

Karun is one of the best analysts out there. Very perceptive, keen observer and hits the nail on the head!

Sad for Oscar for his first GP win to be like this. People will remember it as a not so positive moment.

McLaren have loads of championships already, but there's no way as a racer I'd pull over for Oscar because McLaren have ballsed up on the pitwall, even for saying it over the radio I would park my bread bike and retire

I kept yelling at the TV: "They need to get Andrea Stella on the radio and tell them what's what." I was surprised someone in authority - like Brawn, Vowels, etc., have done in the past - didn't just handle the situation.

OMG the level of bias showed be sky people is beyond belief... Max needs to remember that f1 is a team sport but Lando need to be selfish to win a championship.... Guys you're 🤢 🤢 🤢, my question to Lando and sky people is: if Lando was leading the race and Oscar would have pited first and take the lead after what would the reaction have been on that?? So many people admired Lando (including myself) for being a role model and having great moral values but last sunday showed such a ugly side of him that so many people won't look up to him anymore.... So stop being biased for f**k sake and treat every single situation the same

Lando was wrong to make that conversation go on for 18 laps. He should have accepted it straight off or not at all. The whole negotiation has an unpleasant taste. Then basically ignoring Oscar on the podium was also unseemly. As Churchill said of Americans, " They try everything but in the end do the correct thing." I've always liked Lando but now favour Oscar. He has a lot of decorum and a measured personality. He will be WC before Lando.

But all these ruthless drivers become multiple world champions

I dont think Lando was a team player in this scenario, however I undertstand the issue at hand was not his fault and put him in a difficult decision.

More ruthless than that? They bullied and blackmailed Lando openly and humiliated Oscar. How much more...

I think it is what they had to considering their mistake in allowing him to undercut Oscar. I think if they had boxed Oscar before he still would have won because of track position and the pace that he had shown. It’s unfortunate now because fans will not see it as a true win and May blame it if Lando loses the championship, but in my opinion that’s the result that would have happened regardless.

I think Lando knew the score and he did the right thing, one race win does not give you a championship you will need the team. Maclean fumbled, Rosberg and Karun put it nicely. Feel sorry for Oscar because the incident took the shine off this win.

Also what you Sky F1 seem to forget, is Lando has been at McLaren for 5 years, Oscar was a rookie last year and half way through his second, and the team has given him a directive he just goes about it with out carrying on like a spoiled bratt

I think Lando did the right thing in the end. There will be a time when he needs help from Oscar. I hope they stay friends.

Mclaren have in the past had a race-to-the-1st-corner policy when they had front row lock outs.
Prost and Senna fell out about it: Coulthard and Hakkinen stuck to it - and Lando said he lost the race there.
This was the 1st time in forever that they had to implement it, and they did it clumsily, IMO.

I think McLaren made the cowards WDC strategic call to pit Lando first planning to use it as a way to have him win with less drama. And then someone pointed out it was going to be Oscars first F1 win and they felt guilty and didn't own their actions. It was never a call that was "covering" Lewis or Max that is a barely plausible excuse they are using as a flattering lie to avoid further pissing off the fans and more importantly both drivers who should rightfully be furious with them.
