If you’ve purchased a Mac or iPad from Apple, you may’ve wondered why it shipped from China, rather than a local warehouse or retail Apple Store. And that’s what I’ll explain in this video.

Hilarious I have once.

I ordered a customised AirPods Pro for my sister’s birthday, with her name and favourite Taylor Swift song from Lover engraved.

I placed the AirPods Pro order in Seattle, WA. It was shipped from Shenzhen, China to Seattle, WA via Hong Kong.

And I later shipped that AirPods Pro to Macau, also via Hong Kong.

I hate to admit this… but… it was sent from China, but I mailed it back to China😂😂

I live in Australia and my MacBook Pro got shipped straight from a warehouse in Sydney, it arrived in only a few days too. so I assume it was just sitting in the warehouse until I bought it, but it's the standard space grey 256gb model so it's probably a very common configuration. Either way it was quicker than international post from China would ever be

They ship directly from China for the same reason half the Amazon sellers do. Because companies in China pay pennies on the dollar to ship items to the US, but if you ship from the US to China it's expensive. I lived in China for 8 years. Every time my mom sent me something via EMS express, I was looking at $100-200 for a box that was 1-5 pounds (and it would still take 7 days to reach me). But when I shipped stuff home to my mom via my friend's company, I could send her a 10 pound box for 100RMB, about $14 USD and she'd have it in 2-3 days. It's a scam developed with the cooperation of the US postal service that was originally extended to developing countries and is highly taken advantage of now.
