Passports are only good for 10 years (as an adult) and are renewed by mail, but you might need to apply in person.

It was my first time renewing my passport and I did it expedited. I went to the USPS, filled out the paperwork, along with my passport picture and old passport, I sent the application on 1/08/2024 and I got back my new passport on 1/23/24 . Very relieved 😅

I got my very first passport last year & I heard you have to send them your previous passport to renew it and I was very worried I would lose all my stamps and thought they would keep your old passport. Thank you this was helpful

In Australia you go to the government passport website. Fill pages with questions. Print out your answers and page for photo. Go to post office. Get your passport photo taken. Pay for everything. It took 2 weeks for me to get my passport. Cost approx $420aud with photo's. You keep your old passport. Mine had not run out.

Does it matter if the check is in my husband's name ? He has a check book that has his name and our previous address on it, not sure if it would be acceptable even if I write my name and DOB at the top ?
Also in the application it asks to list all other names used. I got married which is why I'm "renewing" mines..I noted the name listed on my last passport under question 10. Would I still need to list it under section 9 as well ?

If I staple the photo in 4 corner it will not damage it, can I send another photo with out stabling it just in case..thanks

It isn’t easy stapling the photo without having to staple 2 pages together. Am I missing something?

Can I use just a plain manila envelope to mail it back or does it have to be one of the ones from the post office?

I have a PDF passport and on the back it says to print it!! Why would it tell me that if i already have the passport from the post office? Also, it says to sign on the first page, but it’s only on page 2 that I have to sign! Do you know if they changed the form?

1 thing I disagree with. Get the passport card. Its an extra form of official govt ID that you can use state side. I really like having an extra form of ID that will get me on a plane that I can keep separate from DL when I travel. Just saying
