I liked the part about taking inspiration from nature. Picking colors based on color theory is useful, but it’s cool and evocative to see that color scheme on a real thing that the model can evoke in the mind.

The models look great love the blue against the yellow and black, I'm also a big fan of having extra models to test colors and ideas on. My main game is Warmachine and I play trolls well over the years and after having gotten several troll lots second hand I found myself with a ton (like 50) of models called Whelps (think ork snotlings) so I primed them all and keep them at my paint desk and use them as test models for different colors or ways of painting things
