Husqvarna bikes was always beautiful. But my memories from them is that everything vibrated apart.

Swedish Husqvarna best
had and raced alot. Most of my trophies on Husqvarna. My 250wr went five years no breakage only chain sprocket s cables. Sucks they no longer make them now.

I bought one of the 83 XC500`s for $3300.00 from North Bend Husky in WA ST....the Husky rep back then was Mark Blackwell and he sent me a different pilot jet and main jet and said to make this bike run like the Factory bikes I would need to mill 1/2 a millimeter off the intake side of the slide. I did that and the rest was history, I finished in the top 10 of my class every time out for the Desert and had an absolute blast riding it in the woods....I wish I would have never sold the bike....James in WA ST

These were stock with either a 40 or 44mm mikuni. They were jetted about four or five steps too rich. You need a selection of slides to get them to run clean from idle into the mid range. I think the 44mm carb is too big. I used a 40. Keep a box of jets as these engines are picky when you have even moderate elevation changes. I remember being two full needles than stock, at the lean end of its range too. Once turned, they start one moderate kick, hot out cold. Unless you flood it, then just pull start it.

My grandpa allways said - Husqvarna är som stridsvagnar, dom håller in i det sista.
English - ''Husqvarna is like tanks, they run until the very end''.
Cheers from Sweden!

Wow look at the business haircut. What was the mid 80s Husky that that had a 6 or 7 speed gearbox? I think it was a 400?

Why Husqvarna went to an ugly white tank and yellow seat, loses me. They made the best-looking motorcycles for years with the red, black, blue painted tanks with the silversides. I would never own a white whale.
