I think a few things could be changed but overall Peppino vs Pizzelle just feels so right!
I think custom sprites to replace the obstacles, peppino painting, and statue you have to hit should be different variations of candy or candy making tools. Changing the final ground pound sprite to look more like they landed instead of just fell and froze in place is a good idea. The back sprite for when you meet him should definitely be redesigned and not be an edit, though I'm guessing you're more of a coder than an artist. There's multiple people out there who could help you PERFECT this mod. All you need to do is ask. I'd give this a solid 8/10.
