"Thirty years later, a kid named Benjamin Franklin Rodriguez... became a neighborhood legend. It was in the greatest summer of my life... when he taught me to play baseball, and he became my best friend. And he got me out of the biggest pickle I'd ever be in. I moved to the neighborhood two weeks before school let out. It was the same summer that Dodger Maury Wills would break the stolen bases record. So with something that incredible going on, it should've started off with loads of great things happening for me, but it didn't. I was from another state, and I didn't have a single friend in a thousand miles. It was a lousy way to end up the fifth grade, 'cause I had zip time to make friends before summer. And that's about where it all started."

Two kinds of comments (in general) here:
1.) People who remember listening and dancing to this when they were younger.
2.) Kids who grew up watching The Sandlot.

Sandlot is real good for multiple reasons:

1. It brings back memories for kids that played any game (baseball, football, hockey...etc.) in recreational ways or pick up games.

2. It introduces a life style that was not seen by some 90’s kids. For example, I didn’t know those good songs like Finger Poppin Time. Thanks to my parents and Sandlot I now know them. It also shows how life was like and gives a nostalgic feeling.

This is why I love this movie.

In the late 80's I worked at a storage facility where Hank Ballard kept his tour bus. He would walk in the door with so much energy and say, I love ya, I love ya, I love ya. A real gentleman with a gorgeous wife. Sadly she was killed when they went to New York and he was inducted into The Hall of Fame. He's gone now, but a wonderful experience to be around such a class act

I used to play this song on college radio back in the 90's when I did a 50's and 60's show! Great music back then!

Hank was up there on the first wave of Rock n Roll .His voice was like no other . He should be talked about with the greats such as Elvis, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, etc .

Some of the greatest movie were created in the 80's and 90's. Sandlot, stand by me, goonies, breakfast club, and the good son. Makes me want the whole world go back to those times. R.I.P River Phoenix

The Sandlot opening scene, Benny playing against another team while his friends cheer for him. What a way to start a Baseball movie!
