How to remove the SOS message from a Mercedes-Benz using the TOPDON Phoenix Plus

Показать описание
How to removed the annoying SOS Please Authorise or SOS Not Activated messages in the Dash or Instrument Cluster of a Mercedes-Benz.
This message was common from most 2000-2009 models especially the
E-class (211) S-class (220) SL-class (230) CLK class (209) that had Tele-aid and or Mbrace (the name changed but the features were the same.
If you ended up having a failed tele aid module, you would still change the coding the cluster or central gateway, and then you would have to change the coding in the command head unit or audio gateway to show tele aid not present and then install a fiber optic bypass loop so the error would not cause audio issues and or warnings on the dash. I will try to do a video on that process in the future.
In this video I use the Topdon Phoenix Plus to access the coding menu of the instrument cluster to change it from present to not present which means the cluster will not look for messages from the tele aid or mbrace control unit.
In the old Mercedes the message was to alert the driver that their subscription was no longer active. Well over time it became a nuisance to see. So in the dealer we would Code it out of the car meaning to basically shut it off.
I hope this helps. The link to the Phoenix plus is below.
