Roxy Music - Trash [HQ]

"Trash" is track 2 (and the first single—peaking at #40 in the UK singles chart) from the sixth Roxy Music studio album, 'Manifesto.' Written by Bryan Ferry and Phil Manzanera.

Released in March 1979, 'Manifesto' was Roxy Music's first album after an almost four-year hiatus and drummer "The Great" Paul Thompson's last with the band.

The audio for this video was taken from a superb hi-res vinyl rip of an original UK pressing (not made by me).

The line "heavy metal trick or treat" always made me think of Kiss, ha.

Manzanera brings a bit of "Before And After Science" to the table in his abstract guitar solo. It has a Kurt's Rejoinder/King's Lead Hat feel to it. They could have made more of this track, and did live by repeating the heavy accentuated section after the solo. A remix would have been great.

Always liked this song but it should have been longer, should have repeated the refrain, can't imagine why they opted for such a lame ending.
