I drive truck and used a rice cooker for many years and not to just cook rice. I made all kinds of meals and the steam basket on top comes in handy as a makeshift microwave

You know when you're way too Asian that you can tell that the rice is still wet and get cringe as they fluff up the rice it well get mushy just scoop it over.

What about rice cookers without nonstick coating? Do any of the ceramic or stainless steel models stand out from the rest? The stainless steel version of your top choice Aroma rice cooker gets poor reviews online.

How does a $30 rice cooker win against the Ferrari of rice cooker, the Zojirushi?

They didn’t tell us how the rice turned out with each method. I watched til the end and got no info.

Did she say “a little al dente” for rice? To me that’s undercooked and I would not want to eat that.

Zojuroshi is magic and it sings when it's done!

The Zojirushi Micom is my all-time favorite rice cooker and absolutely worth it. I've owned about half a dozen rice cookers in my life, including a similar Aroma one.

I have this All Clad pot, but come on...any pot will do. Ya think the folks in New Orleans are cooking their rice in All Clad?

There's no way that Aroma rice cooker is better than my Zojirushi. It may be more of an investment, but a Zojirushi will last far, far longer with heavy use.

I use my Instant Pot to cook rice. It's also set it & walk away like a rice cooker but I also use it constantly for cooking so many other things. Actually I often use 2. Rice, potatoes, etc in one & the main dish in the other one.

I'm keeping my cheap rice cooker. It works better than my Instant Pot.

“...blown out rice”

The internet has ruined the term “blown out” for me.

Can't afford counter/cabinet space. 2 feet of space. I use sauce pans because I can hang it.

I've got an Aroma rice cooker. It also slow-cooks and sautees/fries, does soups, and you can even bake in it if you get creative. I do quinoa in it all the time, and it comes out great. Well worth the cost, and so much of a meal can be reduced down to one pot.

I've had a similar rice cooker made by Aroma that I've had for five or so years now. It's definitely handy if you cook rice a few times a week. I unplug mine after it's done, because the 'keep-warm' feature that stays on automatically after it's done tends to scorch the bottom if you leave it on, but if you just unplug it it stays warm and doesn't get scorched.
