Sam Smith was the talk of social media after a Twitter user wrote 'Sam Smith went to stage dive and nobody caught him' alongside a clip of a man jumping off stage and into the crowds.
The stage dive didn't end well, with the crowd parting so Sam Smith quickly dropped to the ground in a painful-looking incident. Left in shock at the clip, users tweeted: 'Sorry I need to keep using this Sam Smith guy jumping or like I don’t know crowd stage diving thing'; 'This is absolutely done me Sam Smith stage dive.'
However, it quickly emerged that fans had been duped into believing it was Sam Smith and the stage invader was actually a random man dressed up as a ninja turtle who had thrown himself into the crowd at a Vanilla Ice concert in Oregon on Saturday.
