Garbage truck fire.

The garbage truck that caught on fire in front of my house.

I was a heavy truck mechanic for an Arizona municipality. This happened frequently. People throw just about everything in the garbage. Fuel. propane bottles. You name it. One fire we found was ignited by a car battery someone tossed in the barrel. When the trash was compacted the battery welded itself to the side of the steel body shorting out causing a serious fire. After the truck was dumped it was easy to see the battery still welded to the body.

Why haul it to the landfill when you can incinerate it on site :-). Those CNG rigs scare the hell out of me.

Why wait to get to the incinerator plant when you can incinerate the garbage on site

Fuck yeah. I remember the good old days when the garbage truck would park up in the old neighborhood for a nice “toaster” as we called it back then. Glad to see the tradition being kept alive.

Everyone knows that the safest place to record a truck fire, is from behind a hanging pot plant.

Well it took a mini for me to realise what was ful ing that fire so much. That truck is either a Propain powered truck or CNG powered... The noise I was hearing was pressured gas escapping. Most likly the fire was the result of a hydrolic leak. I imagine tgat must have smelled horrible.

Did the driver and garbage truck get saved? I see garbage truck fire video's and they trash caught fire and the trucks get saved
