Embed custom HTML - Webflow tutorial

If you're on one of Webflow's premium plans, or have already set up Webflow Hosting for your site, you can use the embed element to bring all the power of code to your project. You can add custom blocks of HTML code to your sites to unlock all kinds of custom functionality.

Yes, this feature is only for paid accounts and/or sites with a paid hosting plan.
And as far as I understand you wont be able to check if the emedded code is working properly until you publish, which in effect means you need to pay hosting at least. Can someone (from webflow) confirm this?

How do I make embed element semitransparent with Z0 (in designer only) so when I edit cms collection, it’s not consistently being accidentally clicked on in the canvas? How do I make it unclickable in canvas? I only want to edit it when I manually select it in elements panel.
