The Doors - Paris Blues (Official Video)

“Paris Blues” traveled a long and winding path to its release, taking on a mythic quality among Doors’ fans along the way. An original blues song written by the band; the track was recorded during one of the band’s recording sessions for either The Soft Parade or L.A. Woman (no one seems to remember). The master tape of the song was lost and the only surviving copy was given to Doors’ keyboardist Ray Manzarek. Sadly, this copy was partially damaged by his son Pablo (a toddler at the time), who recorded over a few short parts. Now, through some creative editing, the song has been rescued from obscurity for the new album.

The Doors channel is the official YouTube home of classic Doors live performances, The Doors albums, and contemporary performances and content honoring The Doors featuring John Densmore and Robby Krieger.

With an intoxicating, genre-blending sound, provocative and uncompromising songs, and the mesmerizing power of singer Jim Morrison’s poetry and presence, The Doors had a transformative impact not only on popular music but on popular culture.

The Doors’ arrival on the rock scene in 1967 marked not only the start of a string of hit singles and albums that would become classics, but also of something much bigger – a new and deeper relationship between creators and audience. Refusing to be mere entertainers, the Los Angeles quartet relentlessly challenged, confronted and inspired their fans, leaping headfirst into the heart of darkness while other bands warbled about peace and love. Though they’ve had scores of imitators, there’s never been another band quite like them.

Could any of you believed years ago to be listening a new song by The Doors in 2022? It's incredible, unbelievable, true magic. Thanks a lot to all the people that make this possible.

Heard my first Doors song when I was 17 years old, and they became my favorite band from that day on. Now, at 72 years old, I am hearing a new one, and my mind is just as blown.

What a masterful job of restoring a lost Doors song from a 2nd-generation damaged cassette tape. Congratulations to all those involved.

The Doors were a Blues band at heart : Jim's big majestic voice, Robbie's slide, John's shuffle and Ray's club piano. Superb mood and magic.

Was going to type rip Jim and then thought to myself he just blacked out again. He'll be coming back around after he sleeps it off. I like that thought! Love to Morrison and the doors! Thank you for all you've contributed, truly timeless original music.

Wow! I own everything put out by The Doors, every boot etc. I never heard this before, what a special day for a massive Doors fan to hear something from the band I never heard before. Thank you for Outstanding as always, makes me miss Jim and Ray even more. Break on
Anyone else pick up on Jim's words..."I am going to go to the City of Love and start my Life Over Again" So Jim always intended to leave for Paris, how eerie to think it was his demise going there when all he wanted was to start over as a poet and fade into the shadows away from fame.

I heard my first song by The Doors when I was 15, and they became my favorite band from that day on. From 1971 I can't find a band that looks like it even a little bit similar but nothing. They are and will be eternal! like my tattoo of them on my skin. Greetings from Argentina! for everyone !

What a trip! Jim and the boys in fine form with Jim predicting his and the world's future all in one song. Paris may be Jim's final farewell but the memories and the legend lives on.
