WOOLY TV / JS Black Baron Twin Fin Review

The Black Baron from JS has changed Wooly forever.
The Black Baron is JS favourite and most popular summer series board and there only twin fin. A performance twin fin with a modern feel.
I am riding a 5'10" at 35.4 litres (I'm 87kg and 6'1)

I've been out of the water for almost 20 years due to back injury and I miss and think about surfing every single day. I love your reviews and watching em is getting me so keen find the right board and get back out there. Keep up the great work. You'll gain a big following in time I'm certain. Cheers mate 👍

Got mine in 5’10” eps two days ago and surfed it at Trestles today in 2-4 ft midtide waves. I’m pretty amazed. All the other reviewers suggested going small, really small. Like as little as 5’4” for someone like me at 175lbs. Wooly here and the guy I talked to at JS both said around 5’10” (35L). I’m so glad I listened, it’s ultra light and loose, not chattery, and paddles well. Ive been trying out so many boards to find the balance of vintage and modern, floaty but agile. This one is going to stay with me.

Refreshing to see board reviews from a bigger guy who surfs well. I also have a 5’10 BB and love it!

nice! finally a bigger bloke that does a review and can surf ha - Im 6'2 95kg and surf same ish as you on a good day - I currently surf the lane splitter by christenson Im still working it out goes good on front side - back hand not sure yet different it seems like you need to move the back foot a little more fwd i find and then it shoots off! would be great to see you have a crack at it mine is 6'0 - id surf the 5'10 black barron i think maybe 5'11 but theres a big jump in volume and it can be to boaty i find.. any way keep it up! maybe eat a couple more pies and ill be your no1 fan ;) once you reached 95.

Good review. Can you stay on the twin fins and do the DHD mini Twin 2 please. Keep up the good work and the subscribers will come.

Just found your channel and I love your reviews. Just curious what Literage would you recommend for an intermediate surfer at 178 pounds (80.7 kg)?

Hey Woolly thanks for this, very useful. Question: if you have the 5’10”, what is your own height/weight?

Great review. Would you get a Black Baron EPS or CI Fishbeard spine tek?

We get pretty similar waves here in San Diego, for the chest to slightly overhead range do you like the monsta box or air17X more? May need to get a twinnie too, thing looks so fun

Try the Psycho Nitro with the MR Twin and the stabiliser. I have both the Psycho Nitro and Blak Baron. They're absolute game changers.

Hi wooly, i am considering to take a black baron that but i want to know if u have tried the red baron and diferences. I am 69kg and 1.69cm and hesitating between 5.8, 5.9 or 5.10... I want a really good paddle power, because if not I already have a seaside 5.3 (27l) and dont want to have a similar range board, i want that board for weaker surf than the seaside, but dont know if having too much volum will destroy the amazing performance of this twinny... hope u can help me.
