19th-century journalists Nellie Bly and Elizabeth Bisland raced each other across the globe following the publication of Jules Verne’s “Around the World in Eighty Days.”

About Drunk History:
Based on the popular web series, Drunk History is the liquored-up narration of our nation's history. Host Derek Waters, along with an ever-changing cast of actors and comedians, travels across the country to present the rich tales that every city in this land has to offer. Booze helps bring out the truth. It's just that sometimes the truth is a little incoherent.

They got their bosses to fund a 10-week around the world trip and then got paid for it. They're both winners.

And both women died of pneumonia in 1920s and were coincidentally buried in the same cemetery in New York

Man...this host has totally figured out life. How amazing a job it is to get hammered with hilarious people, while getting paid for it. At most other jobs it seems frowned upon if you bring a six pack to casual Friday's...

Hey it's Rosa's girlfriend!

Also, I love Nellie Bly. Her story is fascinating. Her undercover reporting also exposed a serious problem with mental health facilities. She wrote a book about it called "10 days in a mad house."

Who knew Erin from the office could go around the world back in the 1800's? Good for her

I knew it. She was also the journalist who changed mental health care by pretending to be crazy and getting institutionalized for 10 days. Drunk History also made an episode of that with a different actress.

You can tell that every actor that participates in this show has a great time. It’s just so over the top and bombastic that you can’t help having a good time

Is it strange that now I really want to race someone around the world? No airplanes, only bikes, boats trains and cars and selfies at landmarks. Who's down?

Elizabeth Bisland fell victim to favouritism, clearly. I knew Nellie Bly's story from the atlantic channel. LOVE HER!
BTW, When are we going to get an episode of drunk history on the queen of jhansi?

Bly needs to be taught more in school. I think I only came across her when researching for a psych class in high school. Then sadly forgot about it. Then read a book told by Lois Lane (the series starts to dwindle in quality) but she loves Nellie Bly.
