Extremely disappointed. US gets a price drop, EU gets stuck with worthless Google Play Store credits. Plus, Pixel 8 Pro costs 1099€ in EU versus 999$ in the US, and trading in a Google phone is a complete joke. Planned to upgrade to Pixel 8 Pro, but Pixel 6 will be my last Google phone.

UK here. The Black Friday deals for the 8 and 8 Pro are the same price as when released, but with Google store credit. So that sucks if you don't want to purchase anything else.

I think the price drop isn't anything too angering, considering the preorder bonuses they gave, if ofc you actually wanted them. To those actually using the Pixel Buds Pro or Pixel Watch 2 that came with their phone, the price drop doesn't really mean too much to them. Anyone who bought one after that promotion ended... yea they are kicking themselves right now lol

What you also got during the pre-order from Google is a greatly higher trade in value. I traded in my Pixel 6 Pro 512 GB for a $400 credit. So even with the $200 Black Friday discount you still come out ahead because the current trade in value Google offers now is only $155 for the Pixel 6 Pro 512 GB. That means a pre-order savings of $245 without even factoring the $349 Pixel Watch 2 with the purchase of my Pixel 8 Pro 512 GB. So my pre-order cost savings amounted to $749 when the watch was factored in.

I wouldn't be pissed at Google here. If you know they will do this then don't buy the phone at release and just wait a month or two for a deal. Most people here are knowledgeable to know by now.

I carry two phones a fold 5 and iPhone 11. Att is giving $1, 000 for my iPhone 11 for the pixel 8 pro. Basically free. I think I'm gonna make the jump today.
