It's strange how soldering gear cost varies around the world. Here in Australia I got a precision JBC station for the same price of a Hakko fx-951! Also although JBC tips are ~1/3-1/2 more than the Hakko, they're actually a lot cheaper than Metcal tips. On the other hand the Metcal stations are actually quite reasonable, even the mx-5200. Also ERSA, and Pace here is very expensive; not all that different at the high end to JBC.

Damn, I was thinking of buying the Yihua 853D, how does that compare to this one? I really don't know a lot about brands and stuff. I just use regular cheap solder pens for vehicle wiring. But want to dable in electronic repair now.
