You should write a book. Like literally have never heard any of this before, but it’s so interesting.

This makes me feel so much better! Ever since getting our puppy, I've heard nothing but "get them on a schedule! Feed them at the same time every day!" Aaaand I suck at following a strict schedule. Good to know that's okay.😊

I do intermittent fasting and I’ve never been healthier! Your advice makes total sense to me! It gives the digestive system a break and resets the liver and pancreas in humans, so why not dogs?

I'm getting a puppy in the next few weeks and I must say, your videos have been a life saver! All the info I was looking for you have, I feel less stressed and more excited to get the puppers now that I know what to do, and what not to do. Thank you ♥️

I have had about 60 dogs over the years and never heard of hunger pukes. I prefer feeding twice a day because in theory I think maybe there is less danger of gastric torsion. I think that also dogs which live indoors are around us when we eat and seeing and smelling our food will also make theie gastric juices flow.
I have just started home cooking for them thanks to you and they are stuck to me like superglue as I have been so busy cooking wonderful new things. It feels very fulfilling and I have been telling the whole world how small and unsmelly their poo is even after they had things like beans, cabbage and chick peas. They now have no wind either It just shows how much filler is in most commercial foods, even expensive ones.

I've done keto for years with intermittent fasting, have taken breaks but didn't help me! This totally makes sense! Getting my puppy in a couple of weeks and will feed mostly a fresh diet! Thank you so much for all the common sense in your videos! I've raised many dogs but I could have used this wisdom but have it now! Retired NICU RN pug lover!

I agree with her on giving their bodys time to process their meals. I've gotten into intermittent facing in the recent months. I have a 6 month old german shepard/lab mix puppy. He and I both eat on a semi regular twice a day schedule. For example, today we ate at 5am and 5pm. Tomorrow we may eat at 7am and 7pm. I bounce around between 3a/p and 7a/p on the clock. No later than 8a/p. I give him plenty of water and regular bathroom breaks. I generally walk him 4 times a day. There's also a dog park close by where we puppy playdate often.

Just found you and you make so much sense! My grown son is mentally ill and suicidal right now, so father and adopted an 8 week-old English Shepherd for him about a month and a half ago. Right now my son and the puppy are living with me, and I have a Maltese mix that was abused, but I’ve had him for two years now. Our lives are so disrupted by this new puppy because he’s not on a schedule, we don’t know where to put his cage, what food to give him, etc. I need to listen to you for my sanity! Thank you!

I truly appreciate your posts! I purchased a Malshi puppy two weeks ago at 11 weeks old. He arrived with all of his shots and deworming up until that . He is now 3 months old and I truly feel like a first time mom ( That was 39 years ago 😂). He arrived two weeks ago at about 3.8 pounds and after two weeks he is already weighing in at 5 pounds. I feed him three times daily with 1/4 cup of “Blue Buffalo puppy food 3 times a day. I of course don’t know exactly which genes he inherited since a Maltese is smaller than a Shih Tzu. I’m sure that your answer will probably be to take him to a Vet and I appreciate that. Just don’t want him to be overweight or unhealthy. He is extremely energetic throughout the day but as a puppy he still sleeps frequently.

Sorry to ramble! I enjoy your posts.

I definitely feed my pets a few times per day, but the time definitely varies! That's because my schedule has changed so drastically over the years, my cats have never had meals at the same time consistently. I thought that made me a bad pet parent lol but now I feel validated! I've also fed my new puppy somewhat randomly but not on purpose! This is all so good to know!

Love your info.. I feed my Labrador every evening at the same time. My sister feeds her dog 3 times a day. I can tell the difference. My dog knows when dinner time is and won't be beg and bug me at all.. my sister's dog has no routine and hangs around expecting food all the time and she is looking well over weight.
Thanks for posting the vid.

I’m doing so much research right now, since I usually have my dogs’ food bowl full and my only problem is with that, she is doing her business indoors in one spot (on a dog pad) which my family won’t help me with since I’m only 12, and my parents won’t help me and threaten to kick the dog out, when they’re not helping at all. Also the time or how much you feed your dog will reflect on their pooping schedule which I’m trying to handle. So thank you so much with this. And I’ll try my hardest to keep this dog. 😊

Hi! I have 2 Boston terriers. A male age 1yr 8 months named Tucker and a female 6 months named Elly. My husband and I feed them both twice daily. Once in the morning around 8 give or take 3 hours and evening around 5 or 6. We are cross country truck drivers and time zones and what is going on at the moment plays into when they get dinner, but for the most part and surprisingly we are able to keep it on schedule. We were feeding Elly 3 times a day around noon but quit recently.

Tucker was just acting out and telling me he was hungry by whining and then going to his food bowl and scratching at it and moving it around the floor. We always know when he is hangry with us. Elly is more laid back and is just as happy as can been whenever we feed her. She doesn't whine or anything around dinner time.

Tucker is our special pup. He's had all kinds of stomach issues in his short life. We have had him at the vet multiple times with no real resolution. He pukes. Often. And terrifyingly sometimes. He's done it since he was a pup. Sometimes once a day. Sometimes multiple times a day. Some times not for a week or two and sometimes two days in a row. Sometimes until it is just foam.

The first vet visit said it was probably stomach acid and that we should give him a low dose human antacid every day for a month. All his test were normal. We gave him the pill and it seemed to help a little, but he still had episodes.

Next visit was an emergency visit. Tucker always loves eating his food and he had become lathargic, didn't want to eat or drink all day and was throwing up. He was x-rayed and there was unknown pieces of something in his stomach. He stayed overnight with an IV drip for hydration. He hated it and so did we. He is known to eat everything off of the ground but we didn't see him eat anything. We can't figure out how to get him to quit and now Elly has started following big brother.

Both Tucker and Elly were on a dehydrated diet until a month ago. They loved the food and we thought it was one of the best. It's from honest kitchen. But now since there is two of them, we have decided it is just a little too expensive and also harder to carry 3 boxes on the truck that doesn't last as long as we are on the road (2 months at a time). We switched to Rachel Ray puppy for Elly and Nutro adult for Tucker. We add water to them. We don't have the space for a raw dog food. We have taught them how to wait patiently until they are given permission to eat or ask them to "give paws". It's exciting for all of us. :)

Since changing to a dry food, we've had one very bad episode with Tucker throwing up and only a couple others that weren't as bad. The bad one he puked until it was foam and at least 6 times. The others were only 2-3 times. He usually eats the puke after he does it unless it's continuous puking.. it's horrible.

Do you have any advice/suggestions for us? I really enjoyed your video and wonder if this would help Tucker, but if we feed Elly more times a day, I don't want him to feel neglected. I really think he's a sensitive being.

Thanks. 🐶

We feed our 5 month old mini dachshund puppy Answers Detailed raw 3x a day with a new bowl at every meal. The first meal is at the same time every day, but the 2nd and 3rd meal is depending on when she’s hungry. Sometimes the second one is at noon and sometimes it’s at 2pm.

I am so glad I found your channel, my husband and I have been doing one to two meals a day on keto for more than 3 years, I’m telling you that’s how I cured my constant hunger. I can only imagine the hunger pangs dogs are experiencing when they are begging for food is similar to that nature.
