If we're making a weekend of it, I tend to stay in character (When appropriate, I don't annoy cashiers at stores with it) because that's what i came to do: Role Play.

one useful tip that was giving to me. when you are using public transport, always cover your weapon's with a bag or carry it in a fishing rod bag. not only does it protect your weapons, it also helps you to avoid those lovely conversations with the Conductor or in the worst case a ticket or the confiscation of your weapons.

If you wanna bring a flashlight: disguise it as a torch using some colored tissue paper some wire and more paper

To be fair the best purchase I have ever made was a treasure chest and it may be heavy but is still in character In tent and keeps the damp out of character kit. A good tent was is also important if you can get a proper canvas tent like an a frame or bell tent do it. it will keep you warmer and drier. I would also recommend packing a rope to dry clothing on before putting them in your bag for the wash when you get home.

Oh this is useful for a first time multi-day larp. Been to a few single day ones but soon hope to get ready for a big one :D

Find out the travel distance from car to camp. If you have a lot of gear you may want to invest in one of those small, fold up hand carts to help transport things. Just make sure they have large, sturdy tires.

and also be careful when packing foam weapons as they can become damaged due to pressure and/or heat. Especially when storing them. Direct sunlight will degrade most latex weaponry quicker than keeping them out of it.

And after my GE experience - when you can, invest in a good, period looking water bottle.

Tip: if you play a similar character in different systems, but the still have fundamental differences, make sure you don't confuse say your fighter version of their stuff with their sorcerer version of their stuff.

Well yeah but Narnia had an alternative world where the flashlight could've been acquired. Victorian England. I'm not really sure if they had those back then but... that's the only logical excuse I could come up with. Back to taking notes.
