Kamon, let me start by saying that those are some beautiful queen cells. You definitely do a great job grafting and rearing queens. I have been watching your videos for quite some time now and I hope to raise queens in the near future. I also watch some of the other beekeepers queen rearing videos and most don't compare with your's. Keep up the good work and I hope to see more. I prefer the long sexy cells but I have seen monsters crawl out of stubs many time :)

Chinese grafting tools are awesome. Don't listen to those who use them straight out of the box. Take it apart and sand the tip very fine then trim the end even again. Super thin works every time. Joe May used his for a year or longer, showed me how to do it, and gave me his. I do have the $70 one with shipping. Works better than everything else.

Two thing I learned: 1. Even my biggest QCs are not big enough, and 2. You can leave them out a lot longer than I thought. I’ve done it by accident and have them still emerge, but I’m thinking, “Kamon! Get them in the heat!”😂 Thanks again Reynolds family!👍😃🐝

Tried my my hand at grafting queens 2 weeks ago and only got 3 out of 28 to take. Had a lot of fun trying and practice make perfect.

So if you push the queen into the brood area with the protector, (Orange thing) won't the queen not be able to escape to lay eggs or did I miss that step?
