The tank Abbott and Matua KO is plain brutal. It's nearly 20 years old and still one of the scariest you will see.

I’ve seen this in person — scary stuff. When I was 18 I saw a guy get slammed on his head outside a convenience store and he had his arms straight out like a zombie, eyes rolled back, drool leaking out his mouth down his chin, making the most horrific groaning noises I’ve ever heard. I hear that shit in my head so clearly whenever I think about it. (Idk if what happened to him.)

Respect to the guys that acknowledged their opponent was out and just walked away instead of going in for an unnecessary extra hit.

Respect to all the guys who don't throw follow up shots when it's obvious their opponent is out

The stiffness you see after a knockout is called decerebrate or decorticate posturing. It happens when the central nervous system (your brain) loses inhibitory control to the rest of the body because there is a disruption in the communicating tracts within the spinal cord. You can also see this in people who have strokes or traumatic brain injuries. It is formally referred to as rigidity which is a type of hypertonicity. Essentially a specific connection between the brain and the rest of the body has been cut off within the brain stem. This area is located between the base of your skull and the uppermost part of your neck.

You realize how BIG someone needs to be to make Overeem look small???

I give these guys respect, to get starched like this in front of thousands and still have confidence to step back into the cage is wild.

The way Barbosa's knee caught Dariush was sick. This whole thing is ridiculous. Awesome video

Josh Emmett has some of the most underrated power of all time. If he hits clean you definitely see the pearly gates before violently getting snapped back into your body

Damn. I know you don't stop fighting, but is it just me but when the fighters pound their face after a clearly knockout scares me.

Aljo's reaction to that Marlon Moraes kick was more convincing than his reaction to Yan's knee

Gotta respect the guys that don’t get the extra shot in while they are starched. Emmitt is a solid dude.

I appreciaate the fencing definition in description. I kinda knew what it was just by hearing podcasters talk about it, Morning Kombat etc. but nice to see the definition.

Man, not only are walkoff KO's better for the opponent they also go way harder. Love seeing fighters display control like that!

It’s always so tough to watch someone go completely rigid like that and then still absorb multiple shots to an unguarded face before the ref can jump in

This video makes me appreciate a good referee that gets in there to protect the fighter from further damage after a KO. They're always right on it.
