I dropped my Lie Nelson block plane and bent the adjuster wheel in a way I could not straighten it and needed a replacement. I called them and told them what happened and that I needed a replacement and that it was totally my fault. The lady got my address and told me a replacement was on the way. I tried to give her my credit card number and she would not let me pay for it, not even the freight. Part was in my hands two days later.

One time I dropped my #4 bronze plane and broke the tote. After drowning my sorrows, I emailed them asking if I could purchase a replacement tote. They sent me one free of charge. Love these guys, own a lot of their tools now :)

Nothing is more satisfying than using a sharp hand plane on a fine piece of wood!

I switched to Lie-Nielsen tools many years ago, and I am not disappointed. Very high quality and absolutely beautiful! I am 80, but I still enjoy making things with hand tools. Thank you, Thomas!

THIS is what "Made in The USA" was always supposed to mean. Not cheap; but worth every penny.

Perth Australia here, I have some Lie-Nielsen tools. My favourite is a small hand plane, perfect weight, balance and form. If you're looking for a gift for a woodworker, machinist or home workshop hobbyist you can't go wrong with anything Lie-Nielsen.

I'm a Canadian; they make nice tools. All who work for Lie-Nielsen should be proud of what they produce.

His tools are simply the best, as a furniture maker I use them everyday

Another Lie-Nielsen user here. Simply excellent tools. Heirloom quality is an apt descriptor.

Lie-Nielsen tools are sold right here in Port Townsend WA, the wooden boat capital of the West Coast. I have used their hinge mortise plane for years and couldn’t do without it. Yes they are expensive but worth it and you are paying a skilled worker a living wage. Making the investment in a high quality tool that will last several lifetimes will up your game as a tradesperson and change your mindset. Nice to see the shop and the people who make the goods, thanks.

Magnificent tools! One of those very rare occasions where you pay a lot of money, but it is worth every single penny and then some.

Best tools hands down. I cannot pick up any of my Lie Nielsen tools with indifference. Each one of them feels like a gem in my hands.

As you say known and loved the world over. Had the privilege to meet the Boss, Thomas Lie Nielsen here in the UK. The tools sell themselves, once you start to use them you understand why they are world class.

Wow, amazing tools. Great to see these coming right from New England

Very nice. I come from a long line of cabinet makers from Ireland. I myself am a machinist and I can really appreciate the time, work and choice of material they use.
Great story, thank you for sharing it.

I bought a dovetail saw from them at the store in Maine in 08. Accidentally drive by it with my family and just had to stop in. Wonderful store, company and tools.

Tragically here in Orlando, one of the oldest family owned manufacturing facilities just closed its doors forever. Farewell Beecher Tool & Die. We miss you already.

Absolute Perfection! Tom, you are the man 👏

Nice to see Tom again. I was at his shop back when he was a one man band and I own several of his tools. The beader with cutters and several planes. The tools have held up well over the decades and still get used often.
