According to most consumers, sustainability is an important topic when shopping. On the other hand, the purchasing behaviour of many people is still different. Here, retail can play an important role as a mediator of knowledge. By specifically including brands in the product range that have a genuine sustainability approach and by providing employees at the point of sale with the necessary knowledge about sustainable fashion to advise their customers accordingly. This panel will explore where information and training are needed, highlight the role of retailers in making the fashion industry more sustainable, and show how this can even revitalize city centres.
