Yep, though your saving options will of course be different, even though if it's just an audio clip, it still allows you to save it as a .mov if you like.

Well, actually, that IS QuickTime Player 7. It's just the Pro version instead of the standard version of it. It was cheap, and well worth it. And I still do use it. I've been using it ever since I first started using a Mac back in 10.4 Tiger. I'm on 10.9 Mavericks now, and am still using QuickTime Pro. :) QuickTime X has some nice features, but it still pales in comparison to QTP, and it will continue to do so until Apple does something with it, like allowing us to tweak the prefs for it.

I have an older computer than you. Mine is the Macbook. Not air or pro lion osx or snow leopard. Just plain macbook
