It’s so sad to not see top 1 Ganon I mean he has warlock punch which is insane and the best ledge guarding tool in the game up tilt which is insane and he has the best recovery in the game

I'm a Dedede main and in my opinion he is the coolest character in smash. I know he's not that good compared to most of the other characters but I have fun with him and I think most people don't see his potential

As a Dedede fan (check the name), I respectfully must say that this is just a skill issue. I’m not gonna act all high and mighty, “oh you need a very high IQ to play DDD” cause the king does have some flaws (low mobility and reliance on Gordos) but he’s not anywhere near the bottom either. DDD just takes a while to get used to is all

There is a reason why pros consider him good, whlie others consider him bad.

Casual players and pro players just have a difference in the way they play. Pro play just requires different tools, and some characters have those tools.

The difference is that a decent bit of Dedede's moves are slow on startup but surprisingly low endlag (aside from Dash Attack). If there's one thing that he has no problem with, it's killing moves. Every aerial either kills at 100 or lower or true combos into another move that kills earlier. He has the best ledgetrapping in the game bar none, has a command grab that beats projectiles and deals almost 20 damage, he literally can't be edge guarded unless you have somehow wasted all of your jumps before you even get hit off and don't have any braincells, and gets possibly the best punishes off of a good read of any character in the game. It's all about timing, spacing, and making them come to you. His disantvantage is pretty bad, but his advantage goes kinda crazy. How many people can just up air and beat anvil? How many have a reliable one hit shield break and moves that easily kill at 0? Certainly not top 5, but an awful lot better than Doc, Belmonts, plant, mac, Ganon, and a decent chunk of the lower tiers

Something I like about playing against king dedede as a Luigi main is that whenever they go and zone with the spiky ball hammer attack I can just shoot a fireball. For some reason the fireball makes the ball travel at twice the speed in the opposite direction so it just goes back and hits dedede doing like 17%

As an ex dedede main I absolutely agree. Dedede is nothing but a gimmick and the only way to win with him is to hope your opponent doesn't have much mu experience

That last part about dedede was definitely a lie. Easily able to mess you up when caught lacking. One of the worst I can go with, but at least he can fight back in neutral and survive forever
