17:11 it's because mud blocks are not a full block. SO, hopper can collect items through mud blocks just like how hoppers can collect items through slabs

For most spots where you need water in one stable spot like a static water source, you might be able to use mangrove roots. Those should allow water inside without spilling out. Seen people use them for things like lining a tnt chamber that blows up cobblestone or logs for collecting below. Just a thought. Might work with leaves as well, but I’m not close enough to my computer to check.

the smallest farm you can make is a dirt duplicator. it does require player input though. we all know the process of turning dirt and gravel into coarse dirt and then making it a path then mining it. So essentially by holding the coarse dirt in your off hand, and holding left and right mb, you can gain stacks on stacks of dirt without doing anything
