During a high-level meeting in China, Muhammad Yunus urged Beijing to strengthen its economic presence in Bangladesh, emphasizing the country's strategic role as the 'sole guardian of the ocean' for India's landlocked northeastern region.

These remarks made by Bangladesh’s interim government chief adviser Muhammad Yunus’ have drawn sharp condemnation from Indian leaders across the political spectrum.
Because the reality is:
India has a 7,500 km coastline—10 times bigger than Bangladesh’s.
Northeast India isn’t isolated—it connects to the ocean via the Chicken’s Neck Corridor.
Plus, Sittwe Port in Myanmar which is operated by India, also gives India’s Northeastern states direct access to the Bay of Bengal!
Ironically, Bangladesh itself is surrounded by India on 3 sides!
