It's sad that there still are so many people who don't understand the difference between bacteria and viruses and try to fight the flu, the noro virus etc. with antibiotics & co. How hard is that to understand? And I'm not medically trained in any way, just a normal citizen.

Fun fact, I once had the flu so badly that I had a fever over 103 degrees for about 5 days straight, and since I'm an idiot who didn't do anything to lower the fever, it permanently damaged my sense of smell/taste. Acidic things have smelled and tasted completely different ever since. I didn't recognize the taste of orange juice after the fever subsided. It tasted and smelled like acetone.

So yeah, don't be like me.

I’m curious. I come from a Hispanic background and growing up if I got sick or had an ache, my grandmother would say to use Vick’s Vapor Rub. She would say to use it for a headache, for a stuffy nose, for aches and pains. I would like to know if there is any truth to it? Thank you kindly.

I get my flu shot every year, just in case. However, almost every year the CDC says they didn't guess the strain right. Is it still beneficial if the vaccine isn't made for the right strains?
