An even stranger series of Roblox games that I found are the Termiteking9 games, which consist of surreal puzzle games with an old Roblox design to them. Examples include Gears and Autoclave.

If you’re gonna cover yume nikki inspired games, please cover POSTMORTEM. Its a single player game with some of the best ambience and worldbuilding i’ve seen, and its easier to understand imo. Its still in dev so keep that in mind but the content there is still hours worth of good gameplay

Dream game and other ynfg on roblox are slowly becoming showcases in each dream.

Some dreams just look like a finwei build at one point with all the studs and whatnot, and “late july, midsummer” is getting more showcase-like dreams later

I really loved your thoroughness in research and engagement with the community for this video. I just wanted to make a simple criticism or correction in regards to the background for Dream Game, but keep in mind that I am nowhere near the authoritative source on this. It is true to some extent that Dream Game is a Yume Nikki fangame in that Yume Nikki is literally listed in the description of the place as a source of inspiration, and the game functioned a lot more like a traditional Yume Nikki fangame early on in its lifetime. But Dream Game has always been a passion project of its creator with a dynamic and ever-changing creative direction. At its current state, the project has almost entirely molted off its status as a fangame. Playing it, you may notice that elements and mechanics in the game are derivative of other games and pieces of media, but as a whole, the game cannot be described as simply a fangame of x or y without making a grave reduction of its nature. The thing that made me stick to the game and its community is the uniqueness of it all. Nowadays it is nigh impossible to create something that doesn't derive from the body of work that came before it, but in synergizing its elements, Dream Game comes pretty damn close.

I remember coming across dream game a couple months back, and was enamored by its sheer complexity. I didn’t know how anything worked, so I ended up looking at walkthroughs on youtube. My first thought was “how did anyone figure this out.” Thank you for making this video!

This game deserves recognition. Only 1 million visits is a steal for a game that has a unique visual language and style even when its based ln something that already exists. I really like the vibrancy of this game.

Hi, Toastedcherries.I have been your fan for like few years, I am suprised that you actually make a video about this game! Dream Game is the first ynfg that i played.It was fantastic and wonderful.I played wuite alot of game like sun, moon and star to these i bid adieu, Displacement and destination, I, BENUMBED YET MINDFUL and more. (Late, July, Midsummer is the game that kinda have the dg style) (Fun fact : the hardest rynfg is probably Home as of today.)This genre of the roblox is beautiful and underrated and im happy to say that im glad to ever become one of the rynfg community member.

this is what i want most, if not all of my games in the future to be like. just... interesting and weird, while being fun to explore and learn about. will also research yume nikki and include a lot of gears. ive been wanting to play yume nikki (+ fangames) for years, and i may have a bit of a hyperfixation on the roblox game gears so everytime i see gears i explode
