Those aren't: "motorcyclists" . I seriously doubt they have M1's. Those are just jerks on cheap dirt bikes, scooters and atv's...I'm amazed they totally get away with atv's on the streets.

I grew up in Oakland, and I also rode dirtbikes from an early age. I knew I couldn't ride them on the street, and the few times I ever did try anything along those lines, like even pushing a nonrunning gokart from a nearby friend's house, OPD was on me about it. It's hard to believe that this crap has been going on for more than 10 years unchecked as it has.
The bikes they're riding are more than likely stolen, and whoever they actually belong to are no doubt heartbroken for losing them. It would take me years of delivering newspapers and doing other jobs to save enough money to buy an (old) bike, and I see these guys on their modern bikes which each cost thousands today. If they were legit, they'd buy a street bike or dual purpose, because they actually never ride off road anyway. And only an idiot rides on the streets with knobby tires... I do know how to stop them. One way to do it requires a high degree of riding skills, however most officers would not have those to the level. I have some ideas for devices that the police could easily carry which would allow them to disable any bike within a range of 20' or so, and potentially it could be improved to work from a further distance.
This horsesh't really needs to be stopped, and the stolen vehicles returned to their rightful owners.

I left the west coast in 2004 after 31 years and now live in a log home on several acres in the middle of the woods on a mountain in New England. From here it looks like terrorists have declared nonstop-ambush war on the decent people of CA. The whole state is becoming like the Bay Area high school I attended. The adults are gone. There has to be a breaking point if we're not already past it. Compassion, tolerance, protections, freedoms and opportunities do not work. The end result is these incidents and the pointless reckless unaccountable mindset behind them.

I was talking with an officer on Embarcadero one evening when those punks rode by at high speed doing wheelies and running the red light. I looked at the cop and pointed at the punks, and he just laughed and shrugged. Their main escape route is the Bay Bridge, back over to Oakland, usually in heavy traffic, where they know they can't be caught.

Well, maybe if you stopped defunding the police and calling them racists, allowed the police to aresst them and if the prosecutors prosecuted them and if you allowed criminals to go to jail, you might be able to stop this.
