NOTE(S):

At 2:40:43 I discuss the quotation from Isaiah 1:9, which in Brenton's LXX the translators chose to leave the word "Sabaoth" in English. I should have triple checked this, but this word does not actually mean "Sabbath" or is related to the Sabbath, but rather is from the root word "Tsaba" for armies. So it does mean "Lord of Hosts" here and not "Lord of the Sabbath" which was the point I was trying to illustrate with this example (Masoretic hiding the deity of Christ). Because Brenton's chose to leave the original word, and because it is older English, I thought this was just "Sabbath" but stylized in Old English and I did not bother to check because my initial impression was just too inviting!

So this was an error on my part and should be ignored, but just goes to show you how something can throw you off when it seems like one thing but it's actually another. Always triple check everything! 😂

I have a growing appreciation for the Septuagint, and even entertain the possibility that AFTER the Septuagint (c. 270 BC), the Hebrew text was written down for the 1st time. In other words, the Hebrew was translated from the Septuagint. I know that shatters the narrative we've all been taught. On the other hand, Jewish scholars say the deceit is on the Christianity side. Anyway, its very interesting to learn about this. Your deep study is very good !

I know about the Masoretic text being used for most translations and that it was corrupted, but I didn't know about the details, which you so clearly lay out here point by point. This all makes so much sense and it's very enlightening. What's interesting to me is that muslims always say that the Bible has been corrupted, but I've never heard anyone talk about the Masoretic text vs the Septuagint, and the background for the existence of the former, especially not in debates with Muslims. Technically, the muslims are correct about the textual corruption, but then again, they don't know the context. It also reinforces my suspicions that Mohammed created the Quran from hearing various rumors about textural corruption, the joos "twisting it with their tongues" etc. Interesting that nobody has dove into this topic in debates about Islam vs Christianity. I suspect it's out of ignorance. The deception just goes so very, very deep, and the road is not only narrow, it's a razor's edge.

Is there a Bible that’s translated solely from the Septuagint? I’ve been looking into this for a while. I have a Jewish friend in Israel that claims the rabbis purposely interfere with the Septuagint to mess up the christians. He claims they only use the Masoretic text. That made me curious so I started searching and found the Septuagint is older, and realized that their text cuts out anything that points to Jesus. Thank you for doing all this work for all of us!
