God blessed us back then, during our youth, with some of the best music to ever hit this Planet...disco. And we didn't really appreciate it back then; I guess we thought it would always be around. It was too "goody two shoes" and the devil destroyed it; used evil people to put it to rest; but guess what, it's still here, it's still around, as long as we're alive disco will still live. What a super duper song and track. Hip hop, which was spun by disco just turned 50, disco, in the form of dance/electronica/house/rave is even older than hip hop. I didn't really like this song back then, but I do now. What a diamond in the rough!

At 3:32 Jimmy Ellis, the voice of disco, sings "Don't you know that I was making love, " the violins waltz in the air, the horns get funky tapping 1-2-3 pause 1-2-3-4-5-6, and the song take's flight into Hustler's Heaven. I wish they had extended that part to about three minutes, but it's so good, I would settle for just two minutes of dancing in the clouds.

This was that NY Hustle song and when DJ's played more than 45 seconds of a song.

It's a shame that more songs like this don't get produced today. It's all same-ified pop. Pop rock, pop country, pop pop. There is some real orchestration work in this stuff that's missing from most modern radio pop drivel.

I was on my way to second grade when the lights went out in NYC. Yeah, I'm a proud 70s baby. I was 7 years old and had NO CLUE what the hell was going on. My Mom kept me calm and explained what was happening. My childhood had the best music playing on the radio like this jam. OH YEAH!!

One of the best songs of the Trammps. Especially the drum and bassline are marvelous. The seventies were the best years in dance and soul music. Thanks for posting.

The blackout not only affected New York, it affected New Jersey too. I was eleven years old.
