The Federation for Afrikaans Culture Organisations has unveiled a new bust of Boer War General, Koos De La Rey. The original bronze bust was stolen from his grave earlier this year in Lichtenburg in the North West.
De La Rey was shot and killed on 15 September 1914 while en route to a Potchefstroom military camp from Johannesburg. His driver failed to stop at a roadblock set up for the Foster gang, and police opened fire, killing De la Rey. Sentleeng Lehihi and Moleboheng Khaeane compiled this report.

Why he has a spanish surname? I'm from Spain... Just curious.
"De la Rey", "From the King" or "de" as "von" in german from nobility.
