04:45 - If something is taught by the magisterium but is not infallible, could a person disagree with it?

09:08 - How would I defend that the Catholic Faith is true to protestants?

19:49 - I have never been fully satisfied with the Catholic response to “call no man father.” Can You help clarify it for me?

29:45 - I’ve been practicing martial arts and I’m getting a new instructor, but it feels like it borders on eastern religion. Can I still practice this as a good Catholic?

33:53 - What are the positions that the Church relooked at that were once considered modernist ideas that are now approved?

37:50 - Can you help me better understand devotion to relics?

45:53 - In the TLM the consecration prayer for the chalice includes the words the mystery of faith. It was dropped in the new mass. How do I explain to someone that this doesn’t make the Mass invalid?

52:17 - I just became Catholic. I’ve heard some say that Mary didn’t have childbirth pains and others say she did. What’s correct?

1:04:32 - I heard that a priest could deny someone forgiveness. Is that possible?

1:11:54 - Will a baptism be valid if I took the child to be baptized or performed the baptism myself without the parents’ consent?

1:18:59 - How would you reconcile evolution with original sin?

1:22:03 - What’s the difference between the magic in Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings because it seems like the magic in Harry Potter is bad?

1:29:49 - Why can’t we have separate chalices when receiving communion?

1:34:09 - Is it ok to add an Our Father for Uriel the archangel to the St. Michael Chaplet?

1:38:19 - I’m a lapsed Catholic. How would I begin my journey to return?

1:43:32 - I’m not Catholic. Am I understanding this next statement correctly: When Catholics receive the Eucharist, they are truly becoming one with Jesus.

For that last caller, Adam. I wish him the very best of luck on his faith journey and will be praying for him. He most certainly did have a solid understanding of the Eucharist.
Just one thing, when he asked about the procese for being received into the church, I would have just given him a very simple answer explaining that you go to the local parish, attend some RCIA, then usually get received around Easter. Short and simple. Sometimes over explaining is a bit overwhelming.
Regardless, I love Jimmy, I love Cy, and I wish the very best for this Gentleman.
😊💓

In Trent's defense, he was a bit ill when he did his AMA.

Jimmy is absolutely right about closing loops in apologetics. I have also been frustrated, at times, when an apologist spends almost their whole argument neutralizing an objection without providing an alternate exegetical interpretation, and it is often around the "call no man father" objection.

Harry Potter comment: magic in that world is part of the DNA of some people, it isn’t obtained by any means, you were either born with or without it, that is why there could be witches/wizards from any color and religion, and also why even though many religions are represented there, Wicca and the other more scary one (are those religions? 🤔) aren’t because they can’t coexist within the type of magic wizards in Harry Potter have…

I like Jimmy Akin, he's a great apologist but the 'Harry Potter' answer was a bit disappointing. The Pope and main exorcist of Vatican warned people about these sick works of Rowling. You can read about it, I'm sure there are a lot of Catholic sources on this topic.
