A hijab is not an essential religious practice, the Karnataka High Court said today in a huge setback to students who had challenged a ban on wearing the hijab in class. Five petitions had challenged the ban in court.

Ahead of the order, the state government banned large gatherings for a week in state capital Bengaluru "to maintain public peace and order". Mangalore too banned large gatherings from March 15 to 19. Schools and colleges are closed in Udupi today.

Meanwhile, pro-hijab petitioners are likely to move the Supreme Court.

I ain't no Muslim but as a democratic citizen, I strongly oppose this one-sided injustice. If they are really gonna abide this law then what becomes of the cultural head covers worn by the Rajasthanis, the turbans of the Sikhs and the tilakas worn daily by every dotthead in the country!!??
A huge revolt will begin one coming day and I'll be happy to see one.

Peaceful community has probably initiated a fatwa against this lawyer.

Ans 2 d question y do muslim women wear hijab :
🔹Fulfill the commandment of Allah(GOD): "o prophet! tell your wives and daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) over their bodies (when outdoors).
That is most convinient that they could be recognised as (righteous and chaste) and not be molested...-(quran 33:59)
🔹To be identified as a muslim with a pure and righteous character
🔹To be protected from harm and evil.
An example of hijab tht i hv in mind is that : if there r 2 lollypops, one is covered and the other one is uncovered..
The uncovered lollypop will be unprotected and it'll ultimately get dirt nd germs etc on it whereas the covered lollypop will be protected and it will be pure frm inside.. its covering from outside represents tht it is pure frm inside..
so a lady with proper hijab is like the covered lollypop which is protected by harm and her hijab represents tht she is a lady with pure, righteous character..
The hijab forces men out there to look woman as a *person* not an object!!
Women in islam are not oppressed or restricted, rather they're valued (considered precious) and are protected...
Hijab is a commandment of God and hence its a crucial part of our faith.. Prophet Muhammad (peace b upon him) said, Modesty(Haya) is a part of faith."

Individual rights vs instutions rights, court had used these two words, ,,individual rights u can put drawer innhouse, ,, instutions right u have to put pant in office, ,,,those who move this case to SC, ,,wasting time, ,may be petitions not taken, ,,better concentrate on study which gives chapathi, donot fight for hijab etc etc, ,
