In a landmark judgment, the Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday that Muslim women can seek maintenance from their husbands under Section 125 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), which applies to all women regardless of religion. "Muslim women are entitled to seek maintenance from their spouses under the 'religion-neutral' Section 125 of CrPC," stated the apex court. The court dismissed a petition by Mohd Abdul Samad, who had challenged the Telangana High Court's refusal to interfere with the family court's maintenance order. of mantainance does not even arise, hindus and other religions hve rituals only not laws to abide by, you can make laws for them, there is freedom of religion, along with abiding by its laws, not partial freedom
