I know how this feels, I had a elder patient who was having a stroke and the ER just sat him in a chair near the waiting room and he just sat their for almost 8-10 hrs whilst they didn't do a THING. They knew he was having a stroke and when asked they told him to "just be quiet already and sit over there" then she said "just sit down and be quiet, I'm busy right now!".

Then hours later when we (I) arrived, the doctor told us "it's all our fault!" and "if we would have caught the stroke earlier he wouldn't be in the condition he was in!"

A tear ran down my eye reading how many people have been absolutely screwed over by an industry that is supposed to PROTECT AND HEAL them. It’s so incredibly frustrating and heartbreaking. When will it end😢

when I was 21 with UTI (I had never had one before) and on penicillin (never had that before too at the time), I showed up at the emergency clinic with what was a severe allergic reaction (I didn't know that then. I just knew I had painful blisters and welts all over my body).. they said I had Herpes, tested, it was negative and sent me home.... TWICE! The 3rd time I showed up (that same week) a nurse touched me shoulder in the waiting room because apparently I hadn't seen or heard her ask me a question as she stood to my side.. she then stood in front of me and said "honey, are you having an allergic reaction.. you're having an allergic reaction" and took me in for care.. 30 yrs ago. that one nurse possibly saved my life

I remember when I fell down stairs & how angry my doctor was with the nurses & ambos who brought me in because I was sitting up, and hadn't been collared after falling down an ENTIRE flight of stairs. He was so upset, and apologised to me profusely before getting me pain meds, could really hear in his voice how unhappy he was when he stepped outside of my room to round people up to transfer ASAP for a CT scan and me and find me a collar. He spoke to me so sweetly and comfortingly, made sure I was as comfortable as I could he, then the tone of voice changed so severely when he stepped outside, and the passive aggressive comments of disbelief when he stepped out. It was all over my forms that I'd fallen down stairs, and he was baffled on how no body thought to accommodate me.

I'm not surprised, & I bet this happens OFTEN. I was discharged from a hospital, out of SPITE, because the doctor didn't like me (& I swear to God, I was super nice to everyone working in the hospital, I'm never rude to doctors, anyone working in a place I'm at - I don't want the person doing my surgery, or even bringing me a drink, to hate me lol) -- but she judged me for being an addict - even though I was there for help. And I had a life and/or limb threatening infection and they knew, & told me directly, that I NEEDED IV antibiotics, immediately, like yesterday. (I also ended up needing surgery, a TON of IV antibiotics, ultrasounds, over a week in the hospital, etc.) And they sent me home like that. Sent me home. And a day or two later, I ended up getting picked up by an ambulance, where they took me to a different hospital, & the doctors & nurses at that place were friggin' SHOCKED that I was sent home in that state, they were horrified. One of the nurses had a hard time not crying when I told her everything that happened, & her daughter was also an addict, one I'd run into, & she was so glad I was trying to get help, she did everything she could to help me even though that hospital had no rehab. They ended up helping me figure out a plan to get into a rehab at a third hospital, & my infection eventually got better.

Its amazing to see how much all of us have to go through with the US healthcare system. My father died due to the hospital's lies, intimidation and neglect. They misdiagnosed him, refused to let my mother in to be with him when he couldnt answer for himself and told my mom he would die if we tried to transfer him. He died ultimately from sepsis and a massive heart attack brought on by them "losing him" in the hospital for several hours after they started his discharge/transfer papers after telling us we couldnt transfer him. They tested him for covid every day that he was there and stuck him in a covid icu even though he was negative and had no symptoms. They wanted him to die and get the money. They even wrote covid on his death certificate but rescinded it after the head of the mortuary called and made them fix their mistake. They also didnt want to give us the medical records (for obvious reasons). We sued but got screwed over by the lawyer too so now we have no justice. I steer clear of all hospitals from now on. I trust NO ONE. It is unbearable to be reminded how those people get to live their lives like always where the blood of my loved one is on their hands.

My friend lost her child in er. The child was choking on a piece of food. They rushed the child to er. They told them to wait their turn. The child died in her mum's arms. Medicine establishments are just a pile of sh/t.

That’s what they told me after my husband was in a car Accident. When I got to the ICU
In Austin, he had. Ruptured spleen, bleeding kidney, and swelling brain- but all the rest was okay and he lived.

My step-dad went to the er a few days ago. The doctor said there's nothing she can do and that he needs to see primary about why the antibiotics aren't working. She offered to give a CT scan though just in case something was more seriously wrong. He agreed and she came back and said it looks like cancer. Won't know for sure what kind of cancer until next Thursday. I'm glad he was persistent and she decided to check it out.

I had an ectopic pregnancy. I was bleeding out in the ER for 9 hours and I fainted 3 times while waiting for them to help me. This was 2 years ago…

Ahh yes. When my infant was vomiting and diarrheaing his way off this mortal coil but the ER insisted I should just give him some pedialyte… he ended up hospitalized for 5 days.

the er is very negligent indeed 😄. took so long to get diagnosed with colitis (actually crohn’s disease) at 7 to the point where i became 27 lbs because i kept getting sent back home after they’d find nothing wrong with me. just took one scan to find out the problem

this reminds me of that streamer whos wife unknowingly had an aptopic pregnancy(i believer her name was keyla?)…She was having the worst pain of her life, said she was pregnant, CLEARLY not ok, and the front desk ppl just ignored her until she almost DIED. its all fun and games until ppls biases and lack of critical thinking skills leaves someone dead.

My grandpa had a stroke, and when he was rushed into that ER they put him on a breathing thing, and so a few days later, we found out in my family’s words he died when he first had his stroke and so it turns out the doctors kept him in the ER so they can fake it like they’re saving his life so they can get more money. May he rest in peace❤

Ive been that patient twice. Once was earlier this month. Funnily enough it showed i had low bp, bad palpitations, iron deficiency (which ive been on a iron rich diet and iron pills) and too low sleeping heart rate.

I was still pale blotchy shaky and couldnt walk steadily an hour after passing out for ten minutes

Scariest thing ever when my family and the pediatrician said I was exaggerating… I took her to the ER and her O2 was at an 84 and they had to rush her to treatment. Do t mess with rsv

My 51 year old Mom had fallen outside on concrete pavement backwards hitting her head, thankfully she didn't crack her head open but she had pain and was out of it. I took her to the ER immediately and when we explained what happened asking if she could get it checked through a scan he said word for word "nah u should be fine, we dont wanna blast u with anymore unnecessary radiation than we need to" then proceeded to xray her neck showing nothing out of the ordinary. They promptly discharged her immediately as they were overbooked and she was in the hallway the entire time. Took her to a different hospital a few days later as she claimed pain that wouldn't go away and come to find out she had an undiagnosed concussion....

Always the laziest motherfuckers when u need them the most
