as a side note to the title … it also doesn’t matter who, gets your vote .. life doesn’t change .. policy and elected officials just continue to get worse and worse with each passing cycle .. the senate races are pretty much a joke.. haven’t missed a vote in 30 years and prob never will again it’s pointless.

Unfortunately, this is not the type of venue in which the pros and cons of libertarianism can be fleshed out. Clearly, we live in a highly competitive world in which a wild west, hands off approach to business would leave American businesses at an extreme disadvantage in the global marketplace as most nations subsidize and promote their respective exports while regulating imports of their trading partners. Secondly, there are large regional trading blocks that endeavor to collectively regulate trade to their advantage. And lastly, there are trading blocks such as OPEC and OPEC + who have united to leverage their control over a globally critical commodity (i.e. oil, gas, etc) to the disadvantage of energy starved nations. Like it, or not, geopolitical politics is the art of maximizing market advantage in pursuit of power.

This is why I see Libertarians as offshoots of Republicans. Libertarians are really Republicans who want to do things their way and that is why they will always represent a small minority of people across this nation.
