I Replayed Shadow The Hedgehog so you don't have to

This was my favourite Sonic game as a kid. This is the one I loved. Shadow The Hedgehog. Sonic with guns.

This game actually had THE BEST ''hand your younger sibling the controller'' I've ever seen. If you plugged in a second controller it would control the Sonic gang characters on the mission. Straight up could have my little brother run around as Sonic or Tails as I ran around shooting soldiers with machine guns.

I love this game so much.

I love how the explanation for Shadow following the evil guy is that he seems to know who Shadow is, but then Shadow completely ignores Sonic who *also* knows his name and who he is. Not even a single voice line commenting on it.

Fun fact:
As a child, I found the idea of AIDS-patient Maria being gunned down by the government shocking and incongruous with the rest of Sonic the Hedgehog. As a result, I gaslit myself into believing it was an act of mass mind control by Black Doom to turn Shadow against the humans, and that in actuality Maria just succumbed to her AIDS.

At 11 years old, I said “yeah, dying of AIDS is more on brand for the loveably Blue Blur.”

the most offensive thing about Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) is how good the opening is. You watch that opening, you *want* the whole game to be as good as it.
