bro kumas backstory SHOCKED me with how incredibly sad and tragic it was. i mean, ive been reading one piece for more than half of my life, i KNOW things get sad, but that flashback??? just absolutely devastated me. i genuinely had to take breaks because i was sobbing too much. it was weird bc at the beginning of the flashback, i thought "oh, this isnt too bad actually. i can get through this." but then there was that one panel of kuma crying and i broke the fuck down. and hearing/seeing this summation of it sadly put me right back there. im crying right in this moment lmao. im glad i dont have to go outside today anymore because crying always exhausts me so i have to be strategic about when to read/watch/think about certain parts of one piece 🙃
