Gelli printing gives us more prints than we know what to do with! Today is all about FINISHING those prints, but more importantly - turning them into FINISHED projects. Join me live Saturday April 9th at 10 AM Eastern for a few hours of practical tricks, and secrets I use to quickly take ho hum pieces and turn them into works of art!

You'll need some neutral card stock, a trimmer, your fav adhesive....plus grab your favorite heavy body acrylics, stencils, some deli or printer paper (rice works too), a brayer, gelli plate and create alongside me (my supply list is linked below).

I'll be crafting mostly in Bright colors, white, and black today. Quick, simple prints, and MAYBE an abstract....Keeping it simple and fun.

If you create with anything inspired by this or any video & LIVE, be sure to tag your creations with @Ingrid Blackburn over on Instagram! I'd LOVE to see them. #getcreating

Ask any questions and tell me in the comments how YOU did!!

At first, I used a lot of my gelli prints for making greeting cards. Now it's Christmas, I purchased a bunch of those gift bags from Dollar Tree at 3 for $1.25 and then trimmed and glued gelli prints to the front and backs of them. My friends were delighted!

I’ve only had my plate for a week and I have 199 prints. I made them 2 sided so I can bind them into my journals. I used book pages to roll off my grayer. I may make coordinating pocket with tag to go with the pages.

I wish so badly that this was in focus! It sounds so interesting but the image is giving me a headache. Please do this again soon!

Yep— I have one gel plate that I bought 3 years ago but have never used. I just bought some deli paper so I hope I’m getting close 🤞🏾

Ingrid, I gotta tell you -- I ADORE this gel printing miniseries you've done recently via Live. While I haven't been able to join during the streams (I'm more of a lurker anyway), these vids are my favorite thing to play & watch as I paint. Thanks so much for the excellent and inspiring content!!! <3

I layer my prints on card stock for cards or coasters. I “glue” my prints onto boxes that I use for gifts. I also gelli printed straight onto a couple of terra cotta pots. I find that the thin prints (tissue or deli paper) are beautiful for layering. Thank you so much for sharing your process. I get obsessed with gelli prints and I like to have an “end game” for them but not always. Your art is beautiful!

Definitely a starter. I have backgrounds everywhere. I love making them. I do also make cards, but not as many as I should.

Hi Ingrid, so I'm a starter with the gelli print and a former old school fabric designer. I will use my gelli print backgrounds and paint on top, then they go into my textile laptop library for use in the future, as groundwork or for sale. Regards and thank you for sharing your knowledge.

I didn't know what a gell plate was 6 months ago. Now I have 4 sizes! 3x5, 5x7, 8x10, 9x12. I've found it's generally cheaper to buy supplies when in the U.S. Otherwise in Canada they are very expensive. The gell plate is so fun. It's very addicting!

your mission to use alcohol inks on one of those box projects, is easily accomplished. Try applying a few thin layers of Kilz primer to the box. give a quick sanding and it will be non-porous allowing for the use of alcohol inks. I am loving your series Ingrid as it is very inspiring
