i LOVE how much of the villain martyn can jump into. Its so amazing to see a community that's like "yup we need a hero and villains and story" etc etc. there are so many people/groups that TRY to be the villain and then they dont fully commit - or they back down because of the fans not being in on the bit, but especially with the limited life serious it was *chefs kiss*

Hearing about Martyn's plan to betray Ren in third life made me wish that it was the way things happen. I love the last battle in the dessert but a betrayal in Dogwarts could have been done so well

Love seeing Martyn as a guest here and hearing him talk about his journey as a content creator!

I have a really wild viewer-relationship with him as a creator, because I was a HUGE fan back in the day of his and still am one now, but I had a gap of about 5 years where I actually didn't watch him at all. Mostly because I was there for his Minecraft content and didn't really have any interest in watching Fortnite vids.

I believe it was back in Nov of 2011 when I first started watching his videos, when I was still in middle school, and he was easy my fav content creator at the time. I was obsessed with all things yogscast, but his merch was the only one I had in my bedroom at the time. I used to race home from school in December to catch his ADVENTure series (esp since it started on my birthday each year and younger me liked to think of it as a birthday present from my favorite cc). But as Minecraft started to die out, around 2014ish, I stopped watching a lot of youtube and ended up actually unsubbing from Yogs and Martyn's channels.

Fast forward to 2020, and I just discovered Grian's S7 Hermitcraft vids at the tail end of the season. I started watching a lot of youtube again (as did most folks), so when 3rd Life started, I jumped on watching the series and I was just hit with nostalgia the moment I heard Martyn's voice in Grian's video. I jumped over to his channel and it was just wild to see how he'd changed! His baby face was gone, he had a beard, *he was married with kids*, it was a really wild moment for me. I've been subbed again and watching his vids ever since. He's still got that energy I loved about him from the start.

Absolutely amazing to think about how he's still going strong all these years later and how I started watching him when I was just starting middle school and now I have a full time job and a bachelor's degree. He's definitely one of the Minecraft YT OGs in my heart and I'm still so happy to see him collabing and having fun with others in the community <3

Martyn is literally the reason I'm here in the Minecraft fandom in the first place. Friends tried to get me into Hermitcraft and I just wasn't interested...until Third Life came along and they knew Martyn's storytelling in that series would hook me in. It did, and I've been here ever since. Cannot tell you guys how much he's influenced my own storytelling. Thank you Imp and Skizz for having him on the podcast!

My first introduction to Martyn was the life series, but what was special for me was when I tried to show my little sister the series. She likes Minecraft but doesn’t watch it so much like I do, so I was super excited to show her this shorter series. Anyway, as soon as Martyn pops up on screen and starts talking, she goes, “Is that Inthelittlewood?” Apparently she adores his play through of Breath of the Wild and was a big fan of his before I even knew he existed. It was a fun connecting moment for us :) I love Martyn’s variety in gaming and his hilarious sense of humor 😁

With regards to 28:30 (what you can do quality effort wise in a video vs stream) and 53:50 (the crazy coincidences that happen in content such as the Life series) it is right that absolutely, the effort that is put into post production to make an amazing product on videos is obvious. However, this doesn't mean Martyn can't apply that skillset to his streams. There's one moment that will absolutely stand out to me which was when Martyn was playing on their Ultimate Survival SMP, a short lived streaming series on a pre built map from a few months ago. Martyn was down in an ancient city trying to escape and at the last moment a Warden pops out of the ground and starts going for him. Now he starts bolting it but entirely within this matter of about 2 seconds (Martyn explained later) he saw from the waveforms on the background music he had playing that it was about to hit the peak of its build up and he adjusted on his volume control the music to make it louder, and that combined with the sheer improvised terror in his voice created the most tense and terrifying scene I've ever seen improvised on a livestream, it was absolutely masterful. Martyn is amazing and if anyone wants to see that for themselves it's around the 2 hour and 53 minute mark on his first Ultimate Survival SMP VOD.
