I had my procedure 6 days ago. I have and had literally no pain! I was up the day after. Only took the oxy the day of the procedure. I’m nervous because I’m feeling so good. I hope my grapefruit size tumor is on it’s way out!!!

UFE was just coming out of the experimental stage when I had mine done. It was so incredibly painful afterwards. They kept me in the hospital just under 24 hours. I was on a dilaudid drip, but still in a lot of pain. They sent me home with some pain medication. After lying on the couch crying for 2-3 days, the pain was suddenly gone! It didn't decrease little by little. It was just gone! Those first few days were horrible, but I'm sure that was better than recovering from a hysterectomy.

The pain afterwards is horrible. I laid in bed in agony. I used ibuprofen and percocet, rotating every 3 hours and used a heating pad and still was in pain. All i could do was cry. Thankfully it only lasted about 3 days but that was long enough. And i was really nauseous.

I'm looking forward to getting this procedure. I have no idea how I carried these for more than 20 years but in 2023, I promise they will be gone once and for all. 🙏🏾♥️

Right after my procedure this past monday i came on my period so I cant tell if the pain was from period or from ufe. But my period was NORMAL!! and not super heavy so far and no huge blood clots. Once my period is over ill update you.

I had this procedure done 2 months ago. At first the pain was excruciating to the point, I did 2 days in the hospital. Some people may have different pain tolerance but for me my fibroids was pissed! Afterwards; I begin my recovery from home in a matter of week or two; I was feeling great! Lost mad weight !SW: 220 CW:207 GW:170 . Periods are lighter then the heavy floods. Still feel crampy here and there but that's to be expected. I was told the fibroids should take up to a 6m/ year to shrink flat and my symptoms will lesson.

I only took one Percocet . Mostly ibuprofen for the first 3 days. Today I still cramp and am nauseous and feel tender . I’m bleeding more but I’m so glad I feel pretty good overall. I’m nervous to exercise. Thanks for this talk .

Your right about heating pads, I used heating pads after my UFE procedure and I received fully in 3 days I had my UFE one week ago but I also used other things at home and it helped me with my fast recovery

Reading these comments are making me scared out my mind. My UFE is scheduled for Nov 7, 2023. I’m 47 and hoping I don’t get a menstrual after the procedure.

I just did mine a week ago. I was in intense pain the day of the procedure. The day after I had a level 3/10 to 4/10 but today I'm totally good.
Edit: I was walking an hour after the procedure but I had mine done in my hand and not my leg.

Dr. Lipmann
Thank you for all you do for women! Managing fibroids is not only physically daunting but so emotionally draining as well. I am scheduled for a consult with an interventional radiologist next week. My fibroid is about 12 cm. My uterus is very large - around 17 cm. I'm hoping I'm still a candidate for this procedure. How large is too large for UFE? Thanks so much.
