One thing that may be useful to add to this are charts that show snow melt rates on pavement. I believe around 40 degrees (as is predicted for Saturday afternoon) the general rate of snow melt on roads is .5 to 1 inch per hour.

Varies for direct sunlight etc., but it gives you at least an idea of when travel after a storm will be safer based on snow totals.

No matter what happens the meteorological community will say “we have been saying this all all along and remember I predicted the market crash of 2008”. They literally have no idea and I’ve heard for the last week and days everything from rain, to ice and roads impassable, to possible snow storm, and explanations for each.
