Thanks for your work Mr. Flanders. Your channel is starting to become my favorite!

An Apologetics series would be excellent. Following a Catechism (Trent/Baltimore/CPX) and going through the Biblical/Patristic/Scholastic underpinning of various teachings.

I would argue that for those under 40, the US is a post- literary society which has reverted in many ways to a situation reminiscent of the later Roman Empire with far more restricted pockets of literary culture surviving.

I lived for 15 years with an illiterate and uneducated budhist from a rural backwater. Her education came from herb gathering, the market place, and occasional homilies in budhist temples. Her common sense and moral compass (as far as natural law) was off the charts. By her insistence, we sent her sister's child to Catholic school. (And whenever passing our local church, she would bow and pray at the image of Mary holding the child Christ. I alas lacked her sense, having been bedazzled by education). She had met Christian missionaries before moving to the west, and respected them, but was not converted. But i now think this was because they were protestant, and she was already spiritually reliant on Kuan Yin- a Catholic missionary would have known how to explain this to her, and to guide her to God through the Theotokos. My biggest worldly regret is that though i was often a help to her in worldly things, i was then an arrogant atheist, and only learning from her in spiritual matters.
Also there was mnemotechnics, from the Greeks until the early Jesuits, as Matteo Ricci. The book "memorise the faith" teaches how, for modern literates.

I have heard it said that the English word "word" means only that, and holds nothing of the conotations of logos. But etymologically does not word derive from the anglo-saxon wyrd, which meant also fate at least. Now this wyrd appears to have a pagan origin, in the alleged spinnings of the Norns. But might this not be seen as truth-after-twisting. The greeks also were pagans before evangelisation. Wyrd bid ful aread. The wyrd is everything/inescapable. If Wyrd is Word and so nearly Providence, this is not far wrong.

Thank you for the informative talk. As Catholics, we all must use accurate words for all things of our Faith. Holy Bible, Holy Rosary, Holy Sacrifice of the Mass etc. God spoke everything into existence. If the Douay Rheims Holy Bible is true, then earth is not a spinning ball. Isaias 38 and Josue 10 attest to this. Isaias 38 God moves the sun backwards 10 degrees as proof of His promise: [4] And the word of the Lord came to Isaias, saying: [5] Go and say to Ezechias: Thus saith the Lord the God of David thy father: I have heard thy prayer, and I have seen thy tears: behold I will add to thy days fifteen years: [6] And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of the Assyrians, and I will protect it. [7] And this shall be a sign to thee from the Lord, that the Lord will do this word which he hath spoken: [8] Behold I will bring again the shadow of the lines, by which it is now gone down in the sun dial of Achaz with the sun, ten lines backward. And the sun returned ten lines by the degrees by which it was gone down. Josue 10 God stops the movement of the sun and moon: [12] Then Josue spoke to the Lord, in the day that he delivered the Amorrhite in the sight of the children of Israel, and he said before them: Move not, O sun, toward Gabaon, nor thou, O moon, toward the valley of Ajalon. [13] And the sun and the moon stood still, till the people revenged themselves of their enemies. Is not this written in the book of the just? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down the space of one day. [14] There was not before nor after so long a day, the Lord obeying the voice of a man, and fighting for Israel.

Think about it. Place a cup full of water in the cup holder in your vehicle and drive your vehicle at less than 5 mph, then slam on the brakes. Where did some of the water go? Now multiply this 5 mph by 200, because this is the speed you are told the earth spins at the equator. What happens when earth stops spinning? All of the soldiers fall over and there is massive destruction on earth because of the tsunami created by water overflowing their basins. Newtons law of motion states an object in motion remains in motion or at rest until acted on by an unbalanced force. One must take all that is written in the Holy Bible as literal unless otherwise stated. God's ways are infinitely higher above our ways.

The first law of thermodynamics states matter cannot be created or destroyed. So where did all of the water come from for the flood? The Holy Bible tells us in Genesis 1 [6] And God said: Let there be a firmament made amidst the waters: and let it divide the waters from the waters. [7] And God made a firmament, and divided the waters that were under the firmament, from those that were above the firmament, and it was so. [8] And God called the firmament, Heaven; and the evening and morning were the second day. [9] God also said: Let the waters that are under the heaven, be gathered together into one place: and let the dry land appear. And it was so done. [10] And God called the dry land, Earth; and the gathering together of the waters, he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.

Do you still believe in space? There is a firmament and water above it. As Mr. Flanders states, Moses wrote Genesis from oral tradition and he states that God created the sun, moon, and stars- no planets. There is a version of the KJV with planets. It is King James' version of the Holy Bible. Job tells us that planets are wandering stars and stars are angels.

Remember Jesus warned us about being deceived and the only way this will happen is by the Grace of God.

Pray the Holy Rosary daily and have devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. In the end her Immaculate Heart triumphs (Fatima 1917)! Jesus obeyed His earthly parents St. Luke 2:51-2. If we are authentic followers of Jesus, then we must follow His example.

Athanasius recorded the tradition handed down from the apostles. He defined the content of that tradition as virgin birth, monotheism, resurrection, etc. All of which is contained in scripture.
Seems unaware of traditions unknown to scripture- Ath., Against Heresies, 3.1.1
Exception is his recapitulationtheory, AH, 2.22, which Rome rejects if not mistaken?
