I can't ever get used to calling it "High Bay 2", it's gonna be "Wide Bay" for me.

I still can't get over the way SpaceX just casually moves around these rockets the size of small skyscrapers.
It would take NASA 6 months of planning and another month to run the simulations, to do what SpaceX does in an afternoon.

There could not be a more stark display of the differences in not just operations, management and operational tempo but *BASIC* philosophies between the "OLD SPACE" SLS and SpaceX Starship. NASA/Boeing are taking six months or more to replace stuck valves in a capsule. A trashed down-comer in booster 7 is replaced in about a month. The "mobile transporter and tower" for the SLS took *YEARS* and over a billion dollars to "upgrade" and for the second version of the SLS will take FURTHER YEARS and ANOTHER billion-plus dollars to upgrade *AGAIN*.
The SPMTs that SpaceX uses are COTS (Commercial Off The Shelf) vehicles from the ship building trade. They have since the 1980's basically been designed to have an unlimited capacity and cost in the single digit millions new (US$). SpaceX can also transport the Starship Booster/Ship to the pad/back in a few hours, not a full day. Also the SLS testing protocol is days to weeks each time it is rolled to the pad and takes hundreds of people for each step. There is just no comparison.

That's my first first! Thanks guys ( and gals) for the great coverage, and welcome back booster 7!

I did not think B7 was repairable. I am impressed that they could replace a down comer on a completed booster.

Great! They are able to fix and return 7 to the pad. Not that long of a delay to their testing.

So good to see B7 out for a walk. He was a little shy.

7's downcomer repair proves again the very old ship builder's axiom:
"The genius of steel ships is that you can weld things to them, and when required you can weld them off again".

I don't understand why rolling a big tower made of stainless steel down the highway in a middle of a thunderstorm can be seen as some kind of problem.

I'll be there week after next! Hope B7 will still be on the launch mount (and no major road closures!).

I seen one of these about a week ago showing i think 2 new downcomers on pallets. What are the odds that they tested B-7 to the point of failure on purpose to test the repairability of the booster? Just a thought.

Surprised that the chop sticks where not used to place the booster on the stand.

I still think b7 is dead. I cant see how they could have replaced that crushed downcomer and none of you guys ever filmed a new one going in so I think b7 returning to the launch site is to continue fit checks and maybe to see how new hold arms on the upper quick disconnect might work out. My bet for a full plate of crow is that it will be scrapped. Really unfortunate but I think that is its fate. I bet they wont make that expensive mistake again. Caw caw. :-)
