The AI revolution is reshaping our world at breakneck speed. The possibilities seem endless but are actually being limited by one very important thing: electricity. Asking ChatGPT a question uses 30 times more power than a regular search query on Google. If everyone on the planet let AI into their lives, that would require too much for power grids to handle. So tech companies are going nuclear.

The fact they are using 3 mile island is great. They cleaned the reactor that had a partial meltdown out, due to this they are able to use the reactor chamber again, just need to resurface the reactor and put a new vessle in it. Reactors have become tiny, this means the energy 3 mile island created you can make in a much smaller form factor. We are in a second Atomic age, and this is great also. Nuclear should have never been stopped.

She does not make the distinction between training and inference explicitly. Inference is expensive since it requires larger amounts of computation to provide output from a model with 175 billion parameters.
Training or fine-tuning requires much much much more computational resources and energy (which is what this woman talks about).
